India Through Flickr – HP

Himachal Pradesh, the second state in our journey across India through flickr. It is situated south of Jammu & Kashmir, in the heart of Western Himalayas. It is also the location of Dharmasala, where the Dalai Lama currently resides-in-exile.
Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, is another popular city, a hill station which used to be the summer capital during British Rule. Shimla is also the place the famous Shimla Agreement between India and Pakistan was signed. Rudyard Kipling lived and worked in Shimla around 1885, and his experiences in Shimla were the basis for most of the stories in his book, “Plain Tales from the Hills“.
Let us take a look at this beautiful and little known state of Himachal Pradesh through the following photographers on flickr:

So this is the reason, pictures shows the best Himachal can offer in tourism segment and attracts people towards it. If you go to HP tourism websites not even amateur level of work is displayed and on Internet some of the best available snaps are showing Himachal. Recently saw KarmDude’s site and as he is doing a series on all Indian states, I thought why not to show each and every part of Himachal through the pictures on Flickr. So here I am with a series from pictures of various places of Himachal on flickr. […]
