Brain calisthenics, a Time Magazine article, states that performing a 20-minute mental workout, can help you keep your mind strong and sharp.
The sample brain warm up exercices are fun to do, and at the same time, they point out areas that need improvement. Will it make you the smartest person on the planet, I don’t know, but it might just get your mind in shape. I am going to give it a try for 30 days, and post back my thoughts on how it went.

After about one week of performing 20-minute metal workout, I have to say there is a new found promptness to how the brain reacts to the work out exercises. I have a feeling this has a lot to do with the brain getting conditioned to the format of puzzles.
Too early to evalute the overall effects of the workout, but I do feel a general increase in perfomance as to how I react to solving problems, and maybe a slight improvement in memory, however I will have to put these to a real test.
As for suggestions, it was tough initially to stick to the 20 minutes, but now I am getting used to it. I have been sticking to the exercises in the post, but I feel a need to find new ones, and maybe take it to a slightly higher level. I will post the links I come across.
If anyone else has given it a try, do post your thoughts and comments.
